Read the documentation or readme files before installing new plug-ins. I recently signed up to a subscription of pro tools 12 (latest version). If you have Pro make sure you reset the blacklist, check the 'Scan at startup' option. I was previously using Pro tools 10 which comfortably supported the waves plug-ins suite. Most of them completely disappeared from Cubase, so I uninstalled and reinstalled all my Waves stuff. The audio effects and instruments that are used in Cubase are VST plug-ins.
Fixed: CTRL+drag plugin controls not working in Cubase 9.5.10 and Nuendo 8.1.0 on Windows. With Waves, I have found, if things are haywire, manually removing all apps, cache, and preferences is best approach, Mac or PC. I'm using Cubase 5 on a Toshiba Laptop with an I3 CPU and 6Gb Ram. SOLVED! Click the cog wheel to open the "Plug-in Manager Settings. it appears the presets from VSTs only work in cubase, and even there they are not standard in that you cannot import them automatically into cubase's data bank. By clicking on the "+" (plus sign), I added the /Applications/Waves folder, and after clicking refresh button, cubase recognised Waves plugins.
